Airbnb is providing a feature called “Request to Book” in which booking will be received as a request (i.e. Unconfirmed Booking). In this type of booking, the hotelier will take the action to mark it as confirmed or cancel.
We have added this feature in our system which will work according to the setting “Process Unconfirmed Booking”. By default, this setting will be disabled for all properties. Hoteliers have to enable the setting to access this feature. Once it is enabled in the system, the property can receive unconfirmed bookings from Airbnb.
Please see the following screen for the setting :

How “Process Unconfirmed Booking” setting works
Once this setting is enabled in the system, unconfirmed bookings will be received from Airbnb by the respective hotels in which this feature is activated. Although the bookings will be unconfirmed, inventory for those bookings will be deducted so that the stay dates can be blocked out for that particular reservation and cases of overbookings can be avoided.
These bookings will appear in the list of “Incomplete Bookings” and the type of these bookings will be “Hold Unconfirmed Booking” (See the screenshot below)

Once this unconfirmed booking is inserted into our system, one booking inquiry notification will be sent to the hotelier’s email ID. (See the following screenshot for the email format)
There are 2 ways to confirm the Booking
- From Airbnb: Booking can be marked as confirmed from the Airbnb extranet, once it is marked as confirmed, Airbnb will send the same booking with confirmed status at our end.
- Manually from our system: We have added a functionality to accept/deny the booking in our system, this functionality is available under the old extranet and new extranet (It is somewhat similar to BE process). To take the action on this type of booking, click on the “Confirm Reservation for Booking Inquiry” option of that particular booking. Here, you will get a pop-up box to accept/deny the booking. When “Accept” is selected from the above screen, the booking will be marked as confirmed in our system and at Airbnb as well. When “Deny” is selected, it will be cancelled on both sides. This will work only for reservations received as unconfirmed.
