To keep offering good packages to Booker and attract them with wonderful discount packages is now a strategy for every hotel business. With this release, we have also facilitated our Package module which helps hoteliers to set good discount rates to offer.
From this release onward, users can configure a package where they can set the discount rate for extra pax. Before this, they were able to set the discount rates only on the base rate, but not on extra adult or extra child.
In order to have this, user must enable below setting,
Old Extranet —> Settings —> Property —> Booking Page —> Booking Engine Settings section. Set “Yes” to “Apply Package Discount on extra adult rate and extra child rate?”.

Let’s understand how this works with an example.
#1 Example,
Having the above setting ON, the user has created one package with a percentage discount on the Single Room Daily Plan.

Now let’s say the configuration at Rate Plan level is defined like this,
Single Room Daily plan created with :
Suppose a Booker has selected 3 Adults & 3 Children for this rate plan package. It means the extra pax will be 1 adult & 2 children as per base adult/child configuration of the rate plan.
So the total payable amount will be,
Total Amount = (15% of 500) + (15% of 100) + (15% of 1000) [15% Package discount]
= 425 + 85*1(Extra Adult) + 850*2(Extra Child)
= 2210
