Hostelworld supports 2 types of rooms for bookings
- Dorm (Dormitory Rooms)
- Private Rooms
Currently, for Hostelworld.com, our system processes the bookings only for dormitory rooms, not private rooms. In this release, bookings of dormitory rooms and private rooms, both can be processed in our system.
What is the difference in the process?
- Dorms: We do not get room counts in the booking XML for dormitory room booking, so to get the no. of rooms, we divide the no. of pax by max adult of the rate plan for which the booking has been received.
I.e.
No. of Rooms = Pax in booking XML / Max adult of rate plan,
Where
Pax in booking XML = pax received in booking XML
Max adult of rate plan = max adult of that particular rate plan for which the booking has been received
- Private Rooms: We get the no. of rooms in booking XML, so it will process it according to given no. of rooms and will skip the calculation to get the no. of rooms.
